☼Grand Bric-a-Brac/Jumble Sale will be taking place on Saturday, 22 November ’08 at Defne Restaurant in Bitez, with all proceeds going to Animal Welfare; opening at 11 a.m., closing at 3 p.m., organized in association with BITAV (Bitez Tabiat ve Kültür Varlıklarını Koruma Derneği). ⌡Mike Adams (inset photo) is the professional golf instructor who taught a trick or two to several American presidents and other celebrities (Sean Connery, Jack Nicholson etc) and launched golf here on the Turkish Aegean coast. After giving instructions to some local golfers Mr. Adams presided over the first Kempinski Bodrum Aegean Cup golf tournament played on the golf course of Vita Park Golf Resort on 15-16 November. The organizers hope to attract golfers from all over the world, especially in winter when many European golf courses are closed due to weather. ▲Here is a selection of happenings of interest: On 21 Nov. at 18:30 hrs opening of a painting exhibition entitled “Sonbahar” (“Autumn”) in Bodrum Marmara College with participation of eight painters. The exhibition will be open until 5 Dec. On 22 Nov at 19:00 hrs Marmara College will host a concert of Turkish Music entitled “Gönülden Nağmeler” (“Melodies from the Heart”). On 25 Nov a presentation of illustrations of Turkish ships from the 16^th to the 19^th century will be given in the Bodrum Municipal Council Chamber to students of the Fine Arts faculty of Muğla University – interested parties could sneak in perhaps.
