There is an 88-kilometre walking path between the ruins of the Leleges and the cities of the Leleges, in the mountains, hills, meadows and plateaus of Bodrum, starting in Etrim in Bodrum and ending in Turgutreis.

The Bodrum Leleg Trail was opened in 2017 with the cooperation of the Bodrum Chamber of Commerce and the South Aegean Development Agency. When it comes to walking paths, we think of the roads where you can go from one end to the other by following all the signs. Bodrum Leleg Trazil is one such road. Starting from Etrim and ending in Turgutreis in 7 stages, this route is preferred by nature sports lovers and hiking enthusiasts, with its reputation growing daily. It passes through the hills of the mountains and the north of Bodrum.

Why Leleg Trail? A frequently asked question? The Leleges are the oldest known settlers in Bodrum between 1000 and 400 BC… They founded nine cities, all of which are on the tops of the mountains. It is thought that they prefer to protect themselves from pirates and raids. The most important ruins that have survived today are the city of Pedasa. It is a big city located just north of the Konacik region. “Bodrum Leleg Trail” is a route that passes through the ruins of Theangela, Syangela, Telmessos, Sibda and Termera, mainly Pedasa and other cities where Leleg settlement remains are found.

That’s why it’s called Leleg Trail. It is an 88-km road to walk through abandoned villages, plains, and plateaus, and after cisterns next to Lelegian ruins. A walking activity that can be completed in 7 days if you walk a stage every day in beautiful, clear weather.

If you prefer, you can complete the Leleg Trail without stopping at night by camping at designated spots. What sets this route apart from other known hiking trails is the abundance of connecting roads that link to the main trail.

Instead of starting the Bodrum Leleg Trail only from Etrim and ending in Turgutreis, you can organize your private tours, for example, from Yalıkavak, Torba, Konacık, or Çiftlik by using the described and marked connection roads. For example, you start from Etrim, climb and descend the Kale Mountain, walk up to the middle of the Çiftlik and Etrim main road, and from there, you can use the Yaliçiftlik connection road to reach the Çiftlik East connection. This tour typically takes 6-7 hours, and you can plan another route for yourself the next day. Apart from the main route, the Bodrum Leleg Road consists of sections called the Northern Route, Bicycle Route, and Independent Routes.
