BodrumLife rings in the New Year with this new version of our website which today carries the very best wishes of health, joy, prosperity and peace of mind to all our readers and particularly to all of our fellow Bodrumians. To all of you who may have experienced problems of any kind, large or small, during 2007, we say, shred them and their memories like New Yorkers were invited to do coming on to New Year?s Eve. Out with the Old! The New is Ahead!

The New means looking ahead, the New means Hope, the New means tingling with anticipation of an exciting adventure into the future.

To us the New for the moment is this featured corner called ?New This Week?. We aim to have it frequently updated in order to keep you abreast of what goes on in our fair city and on our peninsula, but to do this well your interest and your contributions will be crucial, so with this very first posting of the year you are invited to send to us at info@bodrumlife.com accounts and pictures of how you greeted this New Year of 2008. Needless to say, we also invite you to put this address on your distribution list for notices of all activities you may wish to bring to the attention of the wider public, and please do it as early as you can before the planned date of the happening.

We all saw and heard the fireworks going off all around the peninsula at midnight, though I am sure that very many of us sat glued to our TV sets watching the fantastic spectacles as the New Year rolled in from the East. New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Beijing, Moscow, Warsaw, Berlin, Paris, London, Rio de Janeiro and New York each seemed to try to outdo each other in the vast explosions of color. Many of us probably were saddened by the subdued nature of celebrations in Ankara, Istanbul or Izmir. Let?s hope that these cities, as well as Bodrum, will have reason and opportunity to celebrate in a truly hearty, exuberant, dazzling manner when we get ready to greet 2009!
