▲On Wednesday, October 29th, Bodrum, along with all of Turkey, will celebrate the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic. Several municipalities have announced programs of ceremonials called for by protocol, torch parades and other commemorative events. Bodrum’s additional attractions are: a piano recital by Gülsin Onay (16:30 hrs, Marmara College); a Milonga Tango street dance (20:00-23:00 hrs, Milta Marina Mall); folk dancing performances and Ender Kasal concert (beginning at 21:00 hrs on the Waterfront Plaza by the castle) – all these events are entrance free, open to all. ☻On Friday, 31 Oct., the recently imported Halloween which has come to be known locally as Cadı Bayramı (Feast of the Witches) will be celebrated with entertainment and costume dances at the Ora Bar and at Musti’s in Yalıkavak. ■The Bodrum Cup Traditional Wooden Yacht Regatta ended on 26 Oct. with 32-meter yacht Dragon Fly skippered by Gürsel Özaydın winning the Bodrum Cup prize presented at ceremonies held in Halikarnas Disco. ►Now comes the 7th Annual Race Week sponsored jointly by Milta Bodrum Marina and the Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club which takes place 1-7 Nov. with races to be held in IRC and IRC Charter categories.
